THE TWO SPACES

Posts, proposals, and community updates are public and can travel across the network. Direct messages and private groups are encrypted and only readable by their members.

Local civic work

Choose your area, follow local issues, add evidence, and support a demand privately. Sakha keeps the work around an issue together instead of turning it into a generic engagement feed.

Public accountability

Demands can move from a community discussion to an authority-facing request, with visible progress and responses. The public record makes it easier to see what happened next.

Private conversations

Private messages are end-to-end encrypted using PQXDH key agreement and ratcheting. The service routes encrypted packets; it does not hold the keys needed to read their contents.

Communities can publish a proposal, collect evidence and replies, then ask a municipality or representative to respond in the same public thread. Sakha makes that trail easier to follow. It does not replace elections, consultation, or law.

Public does not mean private.

Public issue pages are intended to be shared and referenced. Keep sensitive personal information in private channels, and remember that public screenshots or reposts cannot be recalled.

Interoperability is not live yet.

AT Protocol, Bluesky compatibility, switchable feeds, and cross-app account use are roadmap work. Sakha will label them as such until they are available.

Encrypted does not hide everything.

End-to-end encryption protects message content, not necessarily metadata such as who contacted a service and when. It also cannot protect a compromised device or a recipient who shares a message.

Data portability is not a launch promise.

Sakha has not yet published a user export, deletion, or cross-app migration policy. Those details will be documented before public launch rather than implied by marketing copy.
